Education

In the course of this autumn, the Deputy Directors of the Rēzekne School in Studies, Heads of Unit and Educational Management Officers went on an exchange of experience on the Brockens High School and the 6 th High School of Liepāja Rainis. Main purpose of the visit: to learn about how to use pedagogical resources in various projects and how to organise meaningful use OF ICT in interdisciplinary learning.
Ilona Vilcāne, Deputy Director of Secondary School OF Dricānu, commenting on the impressions of the trip, acknowledges: “The experience of the Brocky High School colleagues on their participation in the global education project gave an insight into what development or global education is. In preparing lessons, i will call on colleagues not to submit to stereotypes, but to focus more on globalisation processes, which are increasingly affecting our daily lives, when in modern society human work, security, consumption starts to be seen as self-understandable, then the transition to other values - environmental preservation, intolerance to injustice, human rights, etc. - is necessary. The conviction that teachers need to supplement knowledge and skills in this area and to change their attitudes. It was also the courage to open a sports classroom in which future hockey teachers were studying. It was, of_course, a pleasant surprise to the school director, Egon Walter, who, as a geography, singing and composing.
At the 6 th High School of Liepaja Rainis, he was surprised by the targeted direction of Director Karl's creek and teacher team towards the selected changes and the meaningful use of technology in daily work. A system of evaluation of the knowledge of students of the school, whose principles will be used by colleagues in their work. '
“The journey expanded as a measure of appreciation of valuable experience. The 6 th High School of Liepaja Rainis enjoyed the idea of making a career plan for three years, which is defended by ninth class students in mid-March and enabling pupils to make a thorough assessment of the choice of the profession. I also look forward to introducing a similar approach to career planning. Colleagues in the High School will certainly be encouraged to use mobile application hours to diversify, encourage students to make a variety of videos together with pupils, because in this way students both complement the understanding of technical possibilities, learn interviewing skills, and learn to present themselves, -- the most important findings are revealed by the former Deputy Director of the High School, Elita Valenieka.
Ineta's niece, who is a deputy director with a great experience OF Gaigalavas in elementary school, and without the above mentioned, notes a number of important things that are also worth thinking in schools. From Brocshadow High School, you can learn:
• how to organise a distance learning programme for students from Classes 1 to 9 (also for those who currently live outside Latvia), which provides an opportunity to obtain primary education in non-spot and distance learning for educatees who do not acquire or have acquired basic education at an appropriate age. At the same time, teachers are learning the latest information technology opportunities for communication and the presentation of educational material.
• how to integrate the content of global education into the learning process and out-of-hour activities.
• how to organize meaningful thematic classes with IT. They organize 4 times during the school year in all classes and talk about one topic. A pack of material as well as a 2-3 min. video is prepared.
• how to use and improve the resources of teachers in different projects and how to attract voluntary lecturers.
On the other hand, the lessons to be learned from the 6 th secondary school administration of Liepaja Rainis and the work of teachers are:
• The mandatory requirement for a teacher to reflect in writing the hour of the hour required for students to have an understanding of the lessons to be achieved and achievable in the school hour.
• Experience of teaching subjects to conduct interdisciplinary (research) exercises in nature, city (Walking Learning).
• dedicated multimedia space for organising a motivating learning process that also uses Xbox Kinec, thus ensuring the use of five sensors in a school hour.
• hours in blocks, i.e. 80 min. hours without interactions, but with the need to organize movement pauses as required.
• “learning walk”, during which the director turns into hours at a teacher for 5 minutes and polls children about what they do, or sees a sense of what they do, etc.
• Experience to take care of the school's technological security outside the planned municipal budget (by participating in projects, looking for cooperation partners, sponsors, etc.)
• collaborate with parents, involving them in school life and allowing parents to exercise their own initiatives
In general, all the participants of the journey acknowledged that new ideas for innovations should be created, what should be introduced in the organisation of the learning process, how to improve the work of the school administration. It was, of course, stressed that the participants of the journey had also enriched their competence, as the travel programme included not only the attendance of schools but also the excursion at Liepāja Karaosta Prison, the evening walk through Liepaja Guida, and the visit of Colonel Oscar Kalpaka Museum “Airīte”.
Thank Brocshadow High Schools and Liepaja 6. Ryan High School teams for affection, new ideas and openness!
