At the end of June, the Rēzekne municipality, IN Ozolaines parish researchers and students from the Rēzekne Technology Academy, went to local people to identify their memories and stories. The materials collected during the expedition will be selected and placed IN a Ozolaines parish book of 80 years.
The members of the folklore expedition questioned the local population about their childhood memories, events, their time traditions. The aim of expedition is to identify as much as possible the lives of people and the history of the municipality. This year, Ozolaines parish is a anniversary year. Since 1939, when Ozolaines parish was separated from Ozolmuižas parish, 80 years have passed. A book, a documentary video film, inspired by people's stories during the expedition.
“I hope i can write a book dedicated TO THE 80 s of Ozolaines. We'll talk to people, we'll show new ideas that are worth it to write it down in the book," says Sandra Udre, a member of the expedition, who has been entrusted with the book.
Ozolaines parish is located near the city of Rezekne, the national composition here is diverse, able to preserve its traditions and language without taking the other.
“There are always the Latgalians living with the Old Believers, that is what we feel when talking to people.” It can be seen that a little Russian mentality is more active, but as we can see, it always existed with something else.
As they said, the Russians spoke in Russian, the Latgalian spoke latgalically, but they understood among themselves, but they did not go to another language, no matter how strange it was, "says Udre.
The idea of organising an expedition in Ozolaines parish this year is the parish manager Edgar Blinov, who wants to compile the history of the parish, both by publishing the book and producing video material.
“We don't limit the person to tell you about the subject.” They tell me about everything, and then we get the information from it to the book that is coming soon, and the movie. I'm interested in everything that might be related to our parish because it's history and i want to know it to be accessible to anyone, "Blinov says.
For example, the story that Marie recalls is about the time that electricity was installed IN the village OF Ozolaines.
“In 1966, on 7 November, there was electricity in Beeku village, that is something grandiose we don't see anymore. People who remember such events are delighted that they can be useful.
The small facts that we do not take seriously are really very important. As Maria said, she had the feeling that the sun had appeared at home around the evening, "Blinov said.
As a member of the expedition Sandra Udre emphasizes, it is important for everyone to talk to the older generation so that the known stories are preserved. That is why people are spoken in expeditions with the experience of life.
“It might be an incentive for anyone to write down the chronicle of their family, because then, after years, it is regrettable that there is no longer anything to talk about, that the whole of the older generation has gone, it can be heard in various situations, regretting why i did not record why i did not speak,” says Sandra Udre.
By 30 June, the participants of the expedition went with bicycles to various populated areas OF Ozolaines parish, knowing the lives of people, the origin of the local names, cultural heritage, and the documentary of the historical buildings and places of the parish.
