Increase in municipal waste management tariff

Despite the increase in the natural resource tax on municipal waste disposal in 2019 by 31,00 EUR/tonne compared to 2016, the municipal waste management tariff is only 2.27 EUR/m ³ (excluding VAT) from 01.02.2019.
SIA “ALAAS” informs that on 28 June 2018, the Commission of the public service regulation approved THE tariff for the municipal waste disposal service OF SIA “ALAAS” in 2019 - 54.25 EUR/tonne (excluding VAT) (including a natural resource tax – 43.00 EUR/t).
Municipal waste management fee – 10.73 EUR/m ³ without VAT has been changed since 2016 when the natural resource tax (hereinafter – DRN) was 12 EUR/tonne. As of 2019, THE DRN on landfill of municipal waste will be 43 EUR/tonne. THE DRN rate will increase by 31,00 EURO (excluding VAT) compared to 2016.
In order to reduce the impact of the increase IN THE rate of DRN on the monthly payments of each resident, the company has been actively engaged in waste sorting for several years: a built-in sorting line, purchased and installed storage containers for sorted waste, a number of waste-shared collection points and areas are active in the service area, shares and various educational measures are held, but the maximum achievement is only possible when the population makes a waste sorting before the waste is disposed of. It is recalled that the materials used for processing are not buried and are exported free of charge.
SIA “ALAAS” informs that in the administrative territories of the municipality of Rezekne and Rezekne, Ciblas, Karsava and Viļānu, from 1 February 2019, the single unsorted municipal waste management fee will be 13,00 EUR/m ³ excluding VAT, together with value added tax OF 21% - 15,73 EUR/m ³.
For example, for private owners who use a container with a capacity of 0,24 m ³, the fee for 1 (one) is increased from EUR 3,12 to EUR 3,78 with VAT.
