For the first time, the competition “Award of the Year of Youth of Rezekne” will be held.

In order to highlight and honor the youth affairs specialists of Rezekne, youth workers and young people supporting young people who have changed their daily lives in 2016, as well as to identify the most active and talented young people of Rezekne and promote youth initiative and participation in public life, the Education Board of Rezekne shall announce the application for the competition “Award of the Year of Youth of Rezekne”. The best and most active are the possibility to apply for one of eight nominations:

• YEAR PUPIL
• ANNUAL VOLUNTEER
• NEW ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
• YOUNG ARTIST OF THE YEAR
• YOUTH WORKER OF THE YEAR
• YOUTH-FRIENDLY PARISH ADMINISTRATION
• YOUTH ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR
• THE MOST ACTIVE YOUTH CIVIL PARISH OF THE YEAR

Any young adult of Rezekne aged 13 to 25 years or youth organisation may be nominated for the nominations of the Rezekne municipality.

In the nomination “annual youth worker”, the leaders of the youth centres, youth workers and youth affairs specialists who have provided support for the implementation of the initiatives of young people, while in the nomination “Youth-friendly parish council”, may apply for one of 25 county councils of Rezekne municipality, who in 2016 has helped implement the ideas of local young people or develop their talents and skills by providing the necessary support.

Applications for nominations may be submitted by any resident of Rezekne at age 13, as well as any legal person of Rezekne, including local government institutions and non-governmental organisations.

Applications for the nominations of the Rēzekne municipality shall be submitted by 17 February.

The festival ceremony of the Rēzekne municipality will be held on 24 February, in the municipality of Rezekne.
