For young people

Young people are not our future. Young people are our present - with this conviction and the devise on 24 February in the municipality of Rezekne, the award ceremony was first held in the municipality of Rezekne. The magnificent event was organised to honor, highlight and thank the most active and talented young people of Rezekne, youth experts and youth workers who have changed their lives and other young people with their success.

It should be noted that for several years the most active parish in the youth field, which received a trip to Brussels (1 st place), a Saeima (2 nd place) or a Rezekne municipality (3 rd place), was summed up, but young people expressed their willingness to organise a broader event in which to meet not only young people, but also people who are working with young people and people who support young people.

In the first ceremony of the Youth Annual Prize of Rezekne, awards were awarded in eight nominations, with a total of 46 nominations. The winner of each nomination received a special prize, a stylised ladder made up of wood, symbolizing the way up to a career ladder. The authors of the stylised stairways as a year's prize were the young people of Rezekne. The implementation of the prize in life was taken by the new artist Walter Tsarud.

“The river is given the many creeks that flow into it, the more the stream, the greater and stronger the river. Similarly, in the country, the more active, the ideas rich young people, the more powerful the country,” said the President OF the Rēzekne council, Monvīds Švarcs. “I wish not to fear my ideas and go ahead.” Let this prize be a challenge for future works and achievements!
