In a small but very warm circle of friends in traditional Peterday, the leaders, friends, and relatives mentioned the poet Peteri Jurciņš (1932 –2004), who would be 85 years old this year, December 17. Even though it was thirteen years ago, the author of the “Prisoner” was in the desetnament cemetery, but still alive is Peter's splendid and good-natured smile, his poetry in which the blond lurism with the seriousness and the seriousness of the wisdom, as long years of poetry was divided by the harsh everyday life of a militia employee.
In his memories of Peter, the poet, the son of Rogovka, Rogovka's “Valnu valnu”, both serious and not so serious, Peter was shared by many, also his spouse in Jurcina, recognising that Peter's poetry was not really appreciated at this time. In his poetry he was a real Latgalian, even when Latgale was not yet in the “topo” when Riga to admit that you had come from Latgale did not always count. Apparently, Peter didn't think about it. More than ten poems of poems were issued, for which the poet John sirmbārdis wrote: “it is a high-quality and high-quality poetry, emotionally deep and rich in intonative and conspicuous diversity, a feeling of generous generosity and fulfillment.” In poems, the intimate vibrations of the soul are closely intertwined with the tragic presence, inconsistencies and complexity of the world. In the Sports and Cultural Hallway of Rogovka, the parish people and visitors gathered on the Petersday event. The event was awarded the winners of the new literate competition. 15 authors had sent their works – poetry and prose – not only from Latgale. The first place was awarded to Evica Muizniece (pseudonym Karonhisake), the second place was Andra gaigala from Saldus, third divided by Inga Kalva and Iveta Dimzule. He was pleased with Iveta's students, Rikavas primary school students who had sent their first lyric attempts.
Another important event was held during the Petersday – a book of Latvian family was launched in Latgale, where the story of Latvia's greatest families will be collected until the centuries of Latvia. With this initiative, the Riga Active Senior Association “RASA” and “from the heart of Latvia” Saeima deputies, Silvija Šimfa, Member of Rogovka, visited the event. There are many, but the Romans had decided to start this book with Ranana's family, from which the first Latgalian bishop comes, the political employee Jezups Ranāns (1886 –1969). Bishop Ranana was one of the organisers of the historic Latgale merger Congress, a member of all four pre-war Latvian Saeima, the vice-president of the Saeima. During the occupation of Latvia in exile, he was the only legal representative of the independent Latvian state. A memorial place was created in the Livzines village where Bishop Ranan was born.
The Latvian family book Nautrēnu parish will be three more weeks and then travel to other locations in Latgale.
At the end of the Petersday with his performance, the spectators of THE Dricānu cultural house with the exhibition “Broņislavs” (author Andris Eriņš) were delighted by the audience until midnight.
The event was financially supported by THE Rēzekne municipality'S Nautrēnu parish administration and the National Cultural Capital Foundation's target programme “Latvian State Forests Support Latgale Culture Programme 2017”
