After John Berzard heard the rumble of motorcycles. Mochi is pulled out of garages, operated, repaired, tested in trips so that Peterday is able to participate in “Peteru ryucini”.
On June 29, the owners of Retro motorcycles gathered together for the sixth year in the group of members of the group “as, you i Ji”. This year, the event brought together 28 motorcycle owners from Bērzgales, Lendžiem, Ilzeskalna, Mezvids, Rezekne, Riebes, Varkavas, Ādaži.
According to the organisers of the event Leon Jeruman, Aivars Mediniks and Janis Ranāns, two things are important to them – the folding of old iron hub legs and the promotion of the history of Latgale culture, so that not only from books we know the history of our surroundings and the excellent counsellors, but also see the places in life.
This year's journey could be visually divided into three stages: the living past, the lost Latgale and the future Latgale. Traditionally, the journey came TO Ilzeskalna “Podniekos”, where this year a wide-ranging Peterday programme had been prepared by the May Gailums, gathering for a memorial in the grave of Peter Gailums. Farther through Rogovka, he went to the Designer's tombs, where Peteris Jurcins, Peter Miglinique, and other dižgari of Latgale.
Next, the trips went to Lyuziniam, visited the memorial site of the Bishop Ranceans. A former teacher, Lucia Rananne, was expected to attend the former Lyuzinyk primary school. The gryudinymous journey came to the place of the writer Madsolo Yukoun.
The future Latgale was presented by Mezvids tomato growers and z/s “scrap” in the modern wood processing plant.
And then, the back to Burzgali, where the half-bells were greeted by fans with hot hunting soup.
Although the trip was long and quite tiring this year, the trucks did not hurry, but they were late to share their impressions for their trips, for their trips, for their lives. Thank the organisers, Bērzgales parish administration and all volunteers and supporters.
