Professional carousel SIA “VLAKON”

At the end of the school year, Signagala Jānis Kaida's primary school pupils participated in a career development support event at the professions carousel SIA “VLAKON”, which was organised under project No 8.3.5.0/16/I/001 “career support for educatees in general and vocational education institutions”.
SIA “VLAKON” is a broad-based company, thus providing students with the opportunity to observe a wide range of professional skills.
A dolomite is obtained in the area, but the quarries are filled with water, thus forming the ponds in which trout, Stores and carp are grown. The pupils were able to look at the work of both dolomite and learn about fish farming and even participate in fish feeding.
It was interesting for the younger actors to find out that the local incubator was growing the juveniles. The fish are grown but then processed in plants equipped with the latest generation of technological and manufacturing equipment. The Food technologist and the Marketing Officer discussed the different production and market opportunities.
In the banquet hall, the oldest class students met the waitress who told her about her profession, as well as demonstrating samples of the tabletop label. The pupils experienced skills in the folding of napkins and the placement of cutlery.
In the event of the event, classes 5-8, together with cook, cut vegetables and meat from which two types of soups were cooked, with which all the participants in the event were respected.
The event was interesting and many revelations were rich in both the larger and the smallest, as they gave the opportunity to meet several professions needed in the labour market: tractor, fish, food technologist, cook, confectioner, waiter, marketing specialist. A special value for this day gave the students the opportunity to work in practice.
