Final conference of the project “global school” at Luznava

On March 21, 2018, the Rēzekne municipality took place at the EU programme “DEAR” project “Global Schools: EYD 2015 Bridge to a hopeful future at pre-school and primary school”, No. DCI-NSAED/2014/1#188450345# final conference. The project was implemented by the municipality of Rezekne in cooperation with local and educational institutions of Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Great Britain, Portugal and Spain.
Project activities take place over a period of three years, from April 2015 to May 2018. The aim of the project was to offer the teachers of the city of Rezekne and the municipality and primary school teachers the opportunity to attend seminars of leading Latvian specialists on development/global education free of charge, to familiarise themselves with the experience OF EU countries, as well as to create educational materials for work in kindergartens and primary schools themselves.
The development of methodological materials took place in collaboration with the expert group from the National Centre for Education Content (VISC), the Rēzekne Technology Academy, the University of Latvia, the Education Development Centre (IAC), the Riga pedagogy and the Education Management Academy (RPIVA) and the Education Administration of Rezekne. Project experts selected training materials based on competency approach and organised translation, adaptation of the Latvian Context and Acceleration in the pre-school educational institutions and primary schools of Latvia.
In the final conference, participants had the opportunity to receive three teaching aids for pre-school and primary school. In learning media, children and pupils are invited to explore the history, production and use of tomatoes, paper and plastics today from the point of view of global education. In books for children, it is helped by Latgale boy Boņuks, in the full name Bonifa. He is a cheerful and curious boy who wants to ask and understand. During the conference, participants took part in practice sessions and shared experiences on learning media in schools and kindergartens. The project manager Inta Ozolniece presented the results of the project in Latvia, which, despite a limited budget, exceeds the planned budget. Latvia has demonstrated itself as a reliable and professional co-operation partner in the project.
Ineta Upeniece, head of the General Education Content Centre (VISC) of the National Education Content Centre (VISC), noted that the educational materials developed are a good contribution to the arsenal of teachers of Latvian teachers.
The head of the municipality of Rezekne, Guntars ants and Deputy Manager, Vilis Deksnis thanked the project manager Inta Ozolniece, project manager Ingai Zapai, and all the teachers involved in the project. Gratitude was also expressed in the illustration of the educational material for the artist League Romanwhisper and the makeup Tatjana Carkler.
The conference participants with musical performances were performed by J. Ivanova Rēzekne music secondary school vocal division Ilyja Orlov and Nautrēnu secondary school student Ivars Rjabovska.
On behalf of the project expert group, i would like to express my hope that the results of the project will be most likely to be the improvement of the knowledge, critical thinking and competencies of Latvian children and pupils.
