Creative workshop “air” Maltā

On October 27, AT Maltas High School, the project 'support for the development of educated individual competencies' took place in the creative workshop cycle “four stiches: air, water, land, fire” third workshop “air” organised by the Rēzekne Technology Academy. 75 students took part in the activities.
In an interesting and easily understandable way, pupils were told about the necessity of air in our daily lives. Climate change and how they affect the world were also discussed. In order to make it more interesting for students, a variety of experiments were shown that allowed students to be involved. They were: volcano, elephant foam, miraculous helium.
The representative of the Rēzekne Technology Academy Food Processing Laboratory took over the “air” lesson. In the beginning, it was said that the air had an impact on food, how the milling of flour takes place, why it is necessary to do so, as the hot air affects the dough process. The pupils were divided into 4 groups, each group being given the technological maps of the scalded dough product, after which the pupils worked. The pupils swallowed the flour, cooked the scalded dough, then, with the decorative “shprici”, formed the tray cake “Old Riga.” While the dough was cooking, the pupils were preparing the cream, rubbing the curd through the sieve, foaming the sweet cream. When the baked dough biscuits came out, the pupils filled them with cream, scattered with powdery sugar and burned.
Thank the representatives of the Rēzekne Technology Academy for the interesting lessons!
