Two days - 16 and 17 February 2019 in the small hall of the municipality of Rezekne (Rezekne, Liberation Alliance 95A), representatives of state and local government, cultural and educational institutions, representatives of associations and foundations, as well as all stakeholders whose daily work is associated with people of different nationalities, invited to participate in free training “media literacy and digital opportunities as a means of communication in the contact of various ethnicities”. The training will take place at 11.00 to 17.00
The rapid spread of media and new technologies, as well as access to diverse and large-scale information, raises new challenges in areas related to human habits in the communication process. Nowadays, anyone can become a media content builder, so there is a growing need to develop a critical thinking of society and every individual. In addition, media literacy is particularly important in creating new knowledge and intercultural communication.
The curriculum will look at the importance of media literacy, the search, analysis and evaluation of information. There will also be an insight into the principles of social networking and media activity and practical tips for creating and distributing publications and visual materials. The participants will be able to explore various digital solutions for the organisation of day-to-day work and mutual cooperation, cloud-based work and information sharing and other opportunities available in the Internet in the communication of various ethnicities.
Lectures will be managed by THE NGO TV Administrator of the youth centre of the “Baltic Regional Fund”, a co-owner of several Latvian cultural ambassadors, Silina.
Lector League Silina: “the media are often used to distort information and to discourage different nationalities. In the digital era, when technologies develop and their supply expands every moment, it is important to be aware of the impact of the digital environment and to critically assess the information available in the media. It is also important to understand the possibilities of technology in its day-to-day life to carry out its activities more effectively and to promote intercultural communication."
The training is free. The number of places is limited!
Training “media literacy and digital opportunities as a means of communication in the interaction of various ethnicities people” calls for the application of any interested party who wants to improve his personal and professional experience, contact skills and knowledge of cooperation with the people of Latvia's different nationalities and the people of social groups.
