The Rēzekne municipality was honoured by the memory of the victims of the Second World War

On May 8, a Memorandum of Remembrance was held in the Rēzekne municipality on the defamation of Nazism and the commemoration of the victims of the Second World War. The Vice-President of the Rēzekne council, Elman Pizane, called for a recollection of the fallen in the Second World War: “they gave up their lives to live, work and love.” In May 1945, everyone was happy that the war was over, that the warriors could return to their families. We must not forget the horror of war. Almost every family was put into war, a large part of those who went to war did not return. We will continue the work, keep their memorial, so that there is no war! '
By honouring the fallen, the Vice-President of the Rēzekne council, Elman Pizāne, head of the cultural division Inara Pleikšne, as well AS the HEAD of the Audriņu parish administration, Einars Aleksandrs Bindemanis and Vērēmu parish head of administration Vladimir Bistrov laid flowers at the foot of the monument “mother apple”. AT the time of commemoration, THERE was ALSO Audriņu primary school students who honoured the memory of the victims of war with flowers and poetry.
Today, the memorial events also took PLACE IN Maltā, Garkalnos, Rozentova, Ozolain, Kaunatā, Chornais, Sakstagala and Audiros. There are six veterans of the Second World War in Rēzekne District - two out of war, but four people have experienced war horror camps.
