Rezekne municipality is involved in the project “centennial children” organised by the Madona municipality's Nigerian artisanal house.
The aim of the project is to give gift packages so that children born in 2018 receive a valuable reminder of belonging to this land, country and root. The newborn baby will receive a permanent, very personal gift, which will also be valuable after many years - a silver coin-type medal in an oak box with a project logo and an envelope with a greeting letter. The gift is white and bright, and that it is the life of every dear child - clean, light, and blessed!
The municipality of Rezekne purchased 130 gift sets. On the basis of the binding Regulation No 54 of the Rēzekne District Council of 4 June 2015 on social aid benefits in the Rēzekne municipality, Chapter 9 and the decision of the Standing Committee on Social and Health Protection of 11.01.2017 - gift sets for newborns will be received by parents if the registered residence of the child since birth is in the administrative territory of Rezekne and at least one of the parents of the child is declared in the administrative territory of Rezekne.
