A musician Aija Eriņa's memorial competition “Nudreb heart …” took place in Rezekne municipality.

Aija Erina lived a bright, creative but unfortunately too short life. On May 12, she would have celebrated her 34 th birthday. By honouring Aija's life and memory, her relatives, friends, colleagues organised a new talent competition aimed at promoting the development of the vocal, artistic and literary capacities of children and young people. The competition took place on 12 May AT Gaigalavas in the cultural house.
A surprising crowd of participants took part in the competition. The singers and the originators of the original songs had come from both Rēzekne Municipality Dricāniem, Nagļiem, Kaunatas and Shergans, both from Trikata, Smiltenes, Galenes, Berzpils, Islands, Daugavpils, Varakalans, Rezekne and Preiļi.
The participants performed two songs – the sound of peoples and free choice, and the song authors – their original songs. The jury, when assessing the performance of each participant, divided the locations.
"Group of chickens (4 – 8 years) - 5 participants, 1 st place for Valeskalne (island secondary school), 2 nd place for Arnitai Mazurei (Sherjans); 3 rd place for Evelina Velicko (Dricāni).
“Cyrus” group (9 – 13 years) - 10 participants, 1 st place for Laima Loretta Treikulei (Dricāni); 2 nd place for Darta Ukrinai (island secondary school), 3 rd place for Ginth Chiven (Berzpils).
'Lakstīgalu' group (14 –19 years) - 4 participants, 1 st place for Sutinai (Kaunata), 2 nd place for Elinai Spridzane (Nagļi), 3 rd place for Ralph Boktam (Dricāni).
Original songs - 4 participants, 1 st place for Dionai Liepina (Rezekne); 2 nd place for League Ostapko (Daugavpils), 3 rd place for Bear Velpei (Smiltene).
The main prizes - recording opportunities in professional music studio - was acquired by Ralph Bocta, Ieva sutina, League Ostapko and dione Liepiņa.
Ilze Gaidele, an island high school music teacher, received the Andra Baltach Special Prize for the work of the participants in the preparation of the participants.
In the literary competition, 15 participants from the high school of Tērvete and Aglona High School had submitted their creative works on the subject “My Latvia”. On the day of the competition, the young literature of the high mountain went to the contest organizer in a paid excursion to Latgale, listened to the vocalist performance AT Gaigalavas in the cultural house and received gratitude articles.
The organisers of the competition hope that Aija Eriņa's memorial competition will become a traditional cultural event that will enrich Latvian cultural life every two years.
