The municipality of Rezekne has implemented the project “Supplementing the fish stocks of Luban Lake”

On October 24, 16 thousand zandarin juveniles were placed in Latvia's largest lake – Luban, Gaigalavas parish area, which was supplied BY SIA “rioja fish farm”. Juveniles of fish have been purchased within the framework of the Latvian Fish Fund project “Fish Stock of Lake Lubana Lake” for a total amount of EUR 4620,00 (financing of the Latvian Fish Fund: 3418,80 EURO; co-financing of the municipality: 1201,20 EURO).

As a partner, the association “Zvejniekciems Īdeņa” was also involved in the project, bringing together 16 commercial fishermen of Luban Lake. The association paid the costs of the supply of the juvenile juveniles.

The addition of Luban Lake fish resources with zandarin juveniles contributes to the long-term exploitation of the lake and the conservation of fish resources. This is particularly important for the population of the lake where fishing is a significant source of livelihood. The implementation of the project will be beneficial to the development of fishing, recreational and tourism in Rēzekne municipality IN Gaigalavas and Nagļu parish, as well as in the parish of Madona municipality, Ošupes and Barkava.
