Rēzekne Municipality and Employees' Winter Olympics “Kaunata 2017”

With a jestro motto “more sports, more laughter, more wins will be easy!” On March 3, “Kaunata 2017” was held in THE municipality of Rēzekne Municipality and Employees in Kaunatas parish. The aim of this measure is to promote the promotion of healthy lifestyles and sporting activities, strengthen sports and active recreational traditions and strengthen cooperation in sport and culture.
There were 11 teams from Griškāniem, Mākoņkalna, Sakstagala, Ilzeskalna, Bērzgales, Audriņiem, Rēzekne municipality, Čornajas, Stružāniem, Vērēmiem, Stoļerovas and Silmalas.
The event was welcomed by Vice-Chairman of the Rēzekne District Council, Elman Pizāne, who wished all participants luck, resilience and struggles. The opening ceremony of the competition was accompanied by a presentation of each team's homework, where each team had to play the original and most attractive costumes.
The teams compete in the following sports: camps, team skiing, bobsley, winter cranberries, kirling, Jautro ragvines, Biatlon, hockey and rope towing.
Winners - Bērzgale (I place), Vērēmi (II place) and Mākoņkalns (III place) were awarded prizes.
The competition was organised BY Kaunatas parish administration in collaboration with the Rēzekne District Council.
