Representatives of the municipality of Rezekne will participate in a week of democracy in the Norwegian city of Arendal

By strengthening bilateral relations between Latvia and Norway, representatives of the city of Rezekne and the municipality are invited from 13 to 17 August to participate in one of the most important events of the year in Norway - Arendal's week of democracy.
In the week of democracy in Norway, the Rēzekne municipality will be represented by the Chairperson OF the Rēzekne District Council, Chairman OF the Standing Committee on Education, Culture and Sport Guntis Rasims and the external communications organizer Inta Rimšāne. The Rēzekne municipality and the city delegation, with its artistic contribution, will be expanded by the artist V.I.V.A., the artist of the artist Ušmouse, agra Ritina, Ilze Griezāne, vija Stupāne.
As the Ambassador of Latvia informed in Norway, Judge Dobele, the Embassy of Latvia in Norway, in cooperation with the city of Arendal and the county-ager county, plans to participate in the Arendal democracy week with the centenary of Latvia, by organising a formal event on 14 August on honour of the Latvian 100 year on the sail “Sørlandet”, as well as participating in the parallel events organised under the Arendal Week. In addition, a bilateral meeting with the Arendal Mayor and the President of the County of East Asian County is also foreseen.
By organising the Latvian 100 year-old stand, the embassy wants to introduce the Norwegian politicians, entrepreneurs and mass media present in Arendal, as well as the ārendāliešus and city guests with the centuries of Latvia's statehood, cultural traditions and values, with Latvia as a safe, modern and developed country with a clean, green and ecological environment. By participating in parallel events organised by the Arendal Cultural School, as well as in interactive workshops for children, etc., there is an opportunity to present Latvia's experience, narrative and practically demonstrate the achievements of Latvia's national centuries, demonstrate the creativity and innovation of Latvian citizens.
In order to thank the Norwegian side for the long-term cooperation, the Embassy of Latvia in Norway has invited the Rēzekne City and Municipalities, the Norwegian politicians, including the Mayor of Arendal Roberts Nordli and the city council, the President of the County Council of East Arena, the President of the Council of East Alava Strande, the businessmen, teachers and individuals who have cooperated and supported Latvia, and in particular the city and municipality of Rezekne, on the solemn event on the sail ship Sørlandet.
