Education

On 15 March, THE Lūznavas manor held courses of professional development of teachers “natural as a resource for intellectual and aesthetic education”. The aim of the courses was to promote the development of teachers' professional skills by learning theory and practical skills for the use of natural resources in learning content.
The target audience was the teachers of natural sciences (biology, geography, natural sciences, interest-based education) who, after learning the development programme, would be able to exploit more and more effectively not only the opportunities offered by the environment but also to diversify the learning process by turning it into a research experience. IN THE COURSE OF Lūznavas Manor and Park, 25 teachers from 13 schools in Rezekne, Kaunatas, Maltas, Tiskad, Eastern Latgale Technology Secondary Schools, Adamovas and Tiskad Special Inboarding Schools and Gaigalavas, Rēznas, Verham, Audriņu, Sakstagala Janis Kapaja, Cruit and New Jerusalem primary schools were active in the programme activities.
THE site OF THE Lūznavas manor as a professional development course was not selected by chance – it is located in Razna National Park and, alongside cultural historical values, the natural wealth provided by the park is available in the near vicinity. The Manor and its Park were a great base for the achievement of the course objectives, as the activities took place in both the manor and outside, the park, and during the day the teachers actively worked on the topics such as “the trees to be protected, the surveying of trees, in order to determine which corresponds to the status of the great trees, the meaning of the nobles”, “forest and the park as a promoter of health and well-being”, “the determination of air quality and the exploration of lichens”. The course teachers were a number of specialists of the Nature Protection Administration (DAP), among them DAP informative system designer Andris soms and co-ordinator of THE DAP North Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve, a natural education specialist Inta bag. Andris Finns also presented a project of the “nature concert hall” of the nature and music event, which will also take place in THE Lūznavas Manor Park in 2016, introducing the people of the spiritual bats.
It is expected that a variety of interest seminars, courses and activities will continue to be held in THE Lūznavas Manor, allowing the use of facilities, resources and wealth in the customs and its park for both education and experience.
