In the warmest and sunny day of this spring, the teachers of the history, geography and social sciences of Rezekne went into an exchange of experience for Vidzeme. The main purpose of the visit was to explore the experience of small rural school teachers on how to make the learning process more interesting, efficient and binding.
“By visiting two Gulbenes municipality schools – the primary school and the Tirza elementary school, we got new ideas for learning work. In the field of training, Elena Obrumane, Deputy Director of the Basil School, introduced us to the most interesting events in the school life, the school museum and other activities of the LEADER projects. In practice, we have been involved in activities that illustrate how teachers are involved in improving reading skills in a variety of subjects and how interesting IT can be used in hours. The Tirza Primary School had ideas for creative use of modern technologies in various learning subjects, as all teachers have been creating interactive projects with children for a couple of years using animation. We also visited the exhibition of cultural history and the hiding museum, who was the only Baltics, Margarita Platonova, teacher of the elementary school of Audriņu.
On the other hand, Maltas secondary school units – the primary school teacher Nadežda Savicka says: “It was not only a knowing journey but also an unforgettable rest, as Vidzeme remains in memory of the amazing beauty of nature, a diverse cultural heritage and the traditions of the People. We are pleased about the opportunity to feel the history of history in the Cesvaine medieval castle, to enjoy the fruit of Latvian craftsmen and artists' creative ideas in the cabin 'two towers', as well as to visit the memorial site of Colonel O.Kalpaka's family,“ Liepsalas ”, which can certainly be called a nest of patriotism and history.”
Overall, all the participants admitted that they had gained new ideas, as well as refreshing and enriching their knowledge.
