President of the Rēzekne municipality signs a cooperation agreement with the municipalities of Norway

On September 12, Rezekne visited the official delegation from Arendal and Aust-Agder in Norway to sign a new cooperation agreement with the Rēzekne municipality and the city of Rezekne. According to Rēzekne Municipality's external communications organizer Inta Rimšāne, the cooperation with Norwegian states took place for 20 years: “friendly intercountry relations were started by the Norwegian Anna Elizabeth Neas, who, in the early nineties, taught English and Norwegian languages at the University of Rezekne. Subsequently, the cooperation between schools and institutions continued to be developed by Ellena Dale. 'The cooperation has continued to be successful throughout these years and as a result, several Rēzekne municipality schools and social institutions have received material and financial support, leading collectively in various cultural events, numerous exchanges of experience involving pupils, local governments, medical and educational staff. This time, the Norwegian delegation examined Lūznavas Manor and Maltas Special Inboarding School to familiarise themselves with the work of the institutions and further plan other cooperation activities such as the exchange visits of social workers to Norway.
