Rezekne is a leading health-promotion camp

In the autumn holidays, the Rēzekne municipality had an opportunity to participate in the day camps organised by the municipality of Rezekne, in collaboration with the association “hand-held” ESF project “live healthy in Rezekne District!”. In one camp, 15 children of Rezekne are taken from a multi-child, low-income and poor family, while the second-15 children from social risk groups. Camps took place IN Maltas special boarding school.
In the seven-day period, children were offered activities aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and, as the results show, it is not difficult. The camp participants were willing and interested in all the events they offered, replacing such traditional “sitting in the phone” with movement joy, competitions and games. The camp focused on nutrition in order to replace unhealthy knives with full food.
Every day began with a morning show that helped wake up, warm up the body and mind, and wake up the appetite. The invited specialists saturated the days with an exciting and knowledgeable program: sports activities (relay, sports games, aerobics), creative activities, during which children were preparing “dreamers”, flashlights with Latvian folk articles, folding from the paper “luck shirts”, “Jerusalem”, “aeroplanes”, “trains”, “beakers”, adhesive magnets, and the autumn rolls collected in the hiking, made up a large format application, painted and marked. In conjunction with the health training, the teacher discussed issues of personal hygiene and healthy diet, their importance, the impact on body and health in general. Juices of fruit and vegetables were jointly pressed and tasted. Much attention was paid to the identification, identification and analysis of personality with psychologists. The masters of the neighboring camps in the camps were talking about fighting sports and taught some fighting techniques.
In spite of the changing weather, the camp members went to the Verdesh Lake, where they were in toys and warmed by fire, and various materials (coloured tree leaves, chiefs, acorns, lichens) were collected on the way, which were later used in creative activities. During the camp, a fire was built in a specially designed location to boil the soup. The largest children carried out the first processing of vegetables, then a vegetable soup was shared. What may be more delicious than a soup that is a boil on a fire! On the second trip, the camps went to THE Maltas History Museum. Children listened with interest to THE history of Maltas and surveyed historical household articles and devices.
In the free time, children played table games, which helped develop the thinking skills, the spirit of competition and feel the taste of the game. On Friday morning there was a baby gaville, for there was a snowflakes of the first winter in the air behind the window.
The organisers and participants of the camps express their sincere THANKS TO THE Director of the Special boarding school of Maltas, Georgios Ignatviev, on the responsiveness and hospitality, the kitchen staff who pampered with delicious and healthy meals, the technical staff who cared for the cleanliness and order, the medical staff who took care of the children's health, the night nanners who guarded the sleep of the small camp participants, the Rēzekne municipality's parish management drivers who were sent to camp on Sunday morning and Saturday evening from camp to home.
The last day of the camp was particularly emotional, as the house was joining with sadness about divorce from young friends. But it was also a solemn day, in which the participants were late in memories, looking at the photo of the week, sharing their contact information, receiving gifts and memorials from the organisers, agreed in a joint dance and giving small, sincere performances. As the most brightest events, children mentioned soup boiling on fire, hiking, museum visit. Before going home, the participants of the camp planted a pundurbirch in the school yard, for the centuries of Latvia, and promised to come to see it when THEY visited Maltā next time. Apologizing, there was a tear that showed that the event had succeeded.
