In 2019, 150 years have passed since the periodic table of D.Mendileyeva chemical elements. 47. The organisers of the international children's art exhibition-competition “Lidice 2019”, in collaboration with UNESCO, have selected the theme “chemistry” related to our everyday lives, from footwear soles and road coverings under our feet to the orange fireworks above our heads.
Subtopics of the competition:
the importance of fire in the development of humanity
alchemistry and alchemists
• atoms, molecules, chemical compounds
significant discoveries (metallurgy, fuel etc.)
• chemistry in daily life (packaging, cosmetics, medicaments etc.)
• colors around us
The competition takes place in two stages: Latvia and Czech Republic.
943 works from 54 Latvian municipalities and cities were sent to the competition. 211 works were put forward for the exhibition of Latvian laureates.
On February 21, the ten Rēzekne municipality pupils went to Riga, where the Latvian University Academy of Natural Sciences had a final event-award, and awarded the diplomas and prizes of the laureates. It was also possible to see the works of the 1 st round of the competition, which included the works of the Rezekne municipality.
All the works of the 1 st round of the competition are presented for the exhibition - competition in the Czech Republic. The Rēzekne municipality was represented by the following pupils: Nautrēnu high school pupil Anna Marianna Kateke (teacher May Gailums), Gaigalavas primary school pupil Martin Dulis (teacher Jolanta Dundeniece), Maltas secondary school students Dmitry Titov, Dennis Samohin, Aigars Kuprijanov, Ilya Georgenov, Victoria Valtere, Daniela Borisova (teacher Antoņina Vasilieva), Anastasia Maleca (teacher Rita Sinkēva), Mark Tuch (teacher Vita Kapostina – Tuče).
The pupils were studying and depicting the dental visit, the rich store counter, the chemical agents found at home, the exciting chemistry hour, experiments in the chemistry laboratory, and, of course, the fun chemistry teacher. The performance of creative works was surprised by quality and originality.
The pupils were pleasantly surprised at the event and the opportunity to watch the film's “art chemistry”, during which various experiments were shown. The most pleasure for pupils was the free excursion of the Latvian National Science Centre. It wasn't there! The attention of the pupils was attracted by the coloured glass design, the convenient sitting in the chairs in the ropes, the big green chair, the glass bench, the coloured pillows sitting on the stairs, the sound insulation rooms where they could learn from the various noise, rock and fossil collections, and the second floor yard with glass ceiling, the phone charging table, and the transparent elevator. By participating in such competitions, students have the opportunity to visit Riga and learn something new, expand their vision, and find ideas for future work. Thank you very much for arranging your journey to tell the municipality of Rezekne. We also want to thank THE parish drivers OF Maltas.
