On 30 May, as usual, Rēzekne and Viļānu school dance collectors, choirs, vocal ensembles and folklore sets gathered again in THE Viļānu. More than 550 participants agreed that day at the dance and song festival “around the mountain sun”.
This event included choir, vocal ensembles, instrumental ensemble, folklore pools and People's dance collectors from the Rēzekne municipality OF Kaunatas secondary school, Feimaņu elementary schools, Dricānu secondary schools, Nautrēnu secondary schools, Tiskad High Schools, Maltas secondary school unit secondary school, Rēzna elementary schools, Maltas secondary schools, Lucia Rananes McKashan elementary schools, Central Schools of Verham, Gaigalavas elementary school, Viļānu secondary school and cultural house. Visitors from Belarus: “Sozvuchije” (Postavi) and the dance collective “Glubokoje” also participated in the festival.
This day greeted us with warm sunlight; it was filled with attempts to prepare for a concert where there was a dough and songs of the sun. In the creative workshops the pupils were able to cook the colourful sunshine, as well as try hand-to-hand graphics and make a picture of a painting to be placed in the frame. Workshops provided Maltas children's and youth centre and Viļānu youth centre teachers.
The festival concert was started by folklore sets with “Vysu Dean bees”. Of course, the bee dragon is a big thing. The big and small dancers danced a lot of different dances, also thanks to the sun, the children's smiles sparkling and the joy gleamed in their eyes. The Tisky Secondary School Focal Ansablis covered the concert with the Latgalian people's songs in the instrument version. “Sozvuchije” from the city of Postava sang the beauty of the beautiful Belarusian nature, the children's performance pleasantly delighted the spectators with their scandalous and excited singing. In turn, the peoples' dance collective “salute” from the city of Glubokai was pleased with the jestrum dances. Students like to sing and it was demonstrated BY Feimaņu primary schools and Maltas high school pop groups with songs “Latvia” and “climb the hill”. Martins Drulis, who did not come from the big stage and sang the song “on the day of the family”, was particularly noted. In particular, the sun was celebrated in the songs of the choir: “the sun” (Shelga Mence music, Karl Skalbe words), “the sun went into the evening like a light spark” (the Latvian folk song, the music of Andra Konpeta), as well as in other songs. The concert ended with the People's dance “around the sun.” Let everyone wish that the sun is all summer and warm!
Thank you for all the events, participants, supporters and organizers.
