Education

Lessons are held in several schools in the municipality, where they are managed by teachers, as well as other enthusiasts of interest education. The main objective of these activities is not only to play, but also to promote students' interest in engineering professions. The activities are carried out by means of various projects and also by a municipality purchased by the municipality, as the special sets FOR THE LEGO Robotics activities are very expensive.
On 27 January, a Robotic Championship was held in Preilos, where between 360 participants from Latvia and Lithuania there were also 25 representatives of Rezekne from Maltas, Kaunatas, Nautrēnu and Jaunjjan Schools. The championship was organised to improve the general and special technical knowledge and skills of children and young people, to promote co-operation of THE LEGO robotics of educational institutions and to promote LEGO robotics among children and young people. Organisers of the event - Jānis Eglītis Preiles State Gymnasia, in collaboration with Preilda District CENTRE, Preilda Robotics Club, Sigulda District Innovation Centre, robot school. The Premier Robotics Club has been working for several years, the leader of the story club, Juris Erts: “We wanted to organize bigger competitions in Latgale, as THE LEGO robotics can compete in Riga, Liepaja, Sigulda. The tournament of the Preiles Robotics is very popular today, according to the number of participants from all Latvia - Riga, Ventspils. We had more than 70 participants from five Lithuanian robotics clubs who showed a very high class today. '
The participants spoke in seven disciplines: LEGO line follower, LEGO folkrace, mini sumo, I-robot, Freestyle, line-follower, LEGO sumo. The Rēzekne municipality took part in THE LEGO sumo discipline by starting each of its built robot. The weighing of robots shall be carried out before starting to be more than 1500 grams and higher than the prescribed standards. Every robot took seven battles after a circular system. Although young people were not honoured to get into the final and compete for the honour of the best robot designer, the trainers are satisfied.
“Our children and young people started to do LEGO Robotics for a very recent time, so we are more looking at how others work, and we are very careful to participate,” says Kaunatas high school interest education teacher Evita Cairiša. “Kaunatas in high school with LEGO robotics is 15 children, three children participate in competitions, two more participate as viewers. When i finished THE LEGO Robotic delivery course, it initially seemed to be a regular program for young children, but then i realized that it was much more important because the child initially merely developed motors, working with details, but then the mathematical features, if they wanted, could also perform more sophisticated programming.
Whenever a child deals WITH LEGO Robotics, it means that he deals with something that is very important in the modern world because of the lack of technically mindful people. Some children started with LEGO, they went to another level this year and started to do electronics. It is important that children develop and create their new ideas, rather than merely using existing ones. “The robot is the best,” Evita Cairiah adds with excitement.
The young junior school with LEGO operates 8 children, among them girls. The school director Ivars igrais, who also gives LEGO Robotics: “We had only one robot at first, but a lot of children, so we borrowed LEGO sets from Kaunatas school and went to competition.” We did well, we didn't get the prizes, but we got a bucket for the best design in the programming. Children liked it because our programmes were made very simple but creative. Our robot went very fast, with simple programs, and took effective action.
I like LEGO - we're at the very beginning that big process called electronics and programming. For children, it contributes to thinking. Social function is also important because not everyone can buy these expensive kits with a price of 300 euros, so it is great that the child can operate and build robots.
We have very good support for the municipality and parish, and i can only be glad to represent our municipality, Latgale.
In Preilos, the event is great organized – live broadcast on the Internet throughout the championship, with four video operators, a moderator, also a projector in each class, and every team can prepare for his own appearance, watching the tournament progress live, not going to be in the big hall. That's why they're so big enough for them today. '
The Rēzekne municipality is already preparing FOR the next event - a two-day tournament in Estonia, in the city of Vera, which will be held in February. On 24 March, on 24 March, the LEGO Robotics Championship will be organized in Sherjans, which will invite other city and municipality robotics to participate.
