First volunteering contracts are signed in Rezekne municipality
The municipality of Rezekne has signed three agreements with volunteers in December, laying down the foundations for the systematisation of volunteering and in addition to promotion in the Rēzekne municipality.
In the summer months of 2017, the municipality of Rēzekne, in collaboration with the Rēzekne city association “youth suitcase” and the Karsava Municipality, “The School Youth Centre“ Pugga ”“ implemented the project “L.A.B.S.”, or a voluntary certificate recognised by Latgale, which aimed at systematising the volunteering of young people in three municipalities of Latgale and organising the first Latgale volunteer youth forum, promoting the participation of young people in the decision-making of Latgale and the public interest in decision-making and positive attitudes towards participation in the improvement of their community life.
Three twinning events were organized within the framework of the project – the hiking in the territory of Rezekne District, the goals of setting goals in the Golishevo and Latgale voluntary forum, which took part in more than a hundred participants - youth affairs specialists, representatives OF NGOs, youth leaders and active young people from 11 Latgale municipalities.
The final result of the project on the basis of the Voluntary Labour Law was a voluntary workbook and a voluntary employment contract which will serve as an additional means of promoting and promoting volunteering in the Rēzekne municipality and the city of Rezekne as of January 2018.
Volunteering is an opportunity for young people not only to get their first work experience and knowledge in different areas, but also the opportunity to expand their vision, to reveal their hidden talents, to create opportunities for their future jobs and to spend time with the widening of their friends' regiment.
The project “L.A.B.S.” was implemented within the framework of the “Latgale NGO project programme 2017” funded by the MINISTRY of Culture and the association “Southern Latgale NGOs Support Centre”.
