Rezekne Municipality Day – already on March 19
On 19 March, the Latvian Embassy of Latgale “GORS” will take place in Rēzekne Municipality Day and awarding of the competition “Rezekne District Company”. During the formal ceremony, the most successful and best workers in eight nominations, including “the year's new company”, “year craftsman”, “cultural mecenate” and others will be welcomed.
The winners of the competition will receive a special award – a design object that reflects the light and also the complex road to success. Alexander Rezvov, a graduate of the School of Art and Design of Rezekne, was developing the idea of prize as his diplomat. With the concert after the solemn ceremony, the businessmen would be singing Maria Naumova.
Businessmen will also be honoured by the invited guests: Agriculture Minister Janis Duklavs, Chairman of Latvian Rural Advisory and Education Centre Mārtiņš Cimermanis, Director of Rural Support Service Anna wiltola-Helviga, as well as representatives from THE “Rezekne Dzirnavnieks”, State Employment Agency, “Swedbank”, “Latvian Development Finance Institutions Altum” and others.
It should be noted that the “Rezekne Municipality” competition is one of the business support measures organised by the municipality of Rezekne for a third year in order to promote the development of the business environment, employment, attractiveness and public activity. In order to determine the best and most successful workers, in autumn 2014, the Commission visited 29 candidates for their economic activities in the territory of Rezekne District. The Commission assessed both the quality and diversity of the product or service offered in the company, the attraction of investments, the creation of the site, the creation of new jobs and other criteria. Businessmen were assessed by Kaspars melnis, Chairman of the Permanent Committee on Development, Planning, Economy, Environment and Infrastructure of the municipality of Rezekne, Head of the Development Planning Division Inga Zapāne, representative of the Business Advisory Council and Head of the Rēzekne City, Rēzekne and Vilnius District Tourism Information Centre, Ligita Harčevska, Rēzekne High School representative Iveta Mietule, Aivars Buharins and Rikava parish management head Andrejs Tsarud.
