Projects

The Europe Direct Information Centre in Eastern Latgale Rēzekne District launches a project “a set of measures for Eastern Latgale emerging and existing entrepreneurs about business opportunities in the European Union”. According to the State Agency's data, the unemployment rate in November of that year is 8%, while in Latgale region 17,61 TP1T, Rezekne-15,31 TP1T. In carrying out economic activities, it is possible to provide itself, create new jobs and raise prosperity.
Although this is considered an age of information, we do not always know our options or the latest changes in regulatory processes. The aim of the project is to educate the existing and emerging entrepreneurs of the Eastern Latgale region, as well as to increase their awareness of the European Union's activities to develop their business ideas, contributing to the competitiveness of regional entrepreneurs in the local and European Union market. It is important to be aware of their opportunities and potential at an early age. Some specialists argue that children should talk about business at school, so the project will also involve students OF Maltas, Kaunatas, Dricānu and Nautrēnu secondary schools.
From January to May 2017, three seminars will be organised within the framework of the project. The first will be possible to meet business regulatory and consultative institutions, business start-ups, current tax policy, available European Union support and changes in food and veterinary supervision.
We have been organized for two years by the Rēzekne Municipality and the artisanal trade “Lobs lobby”. Most of the products offered are packed in unintelligent and unattractive packagings, showing that small producers do not have an understanding of the channelling of the product into the market. In addition, the production is uncompetitive outside the local region. Consequently, a second workshop will be devoted to the evaluation of the design of the packaging. The focus will be on a minimum investment and creative approach to improve the design of their product by increasing their competitiveness even in the European Union market.
On the other hand, the third information seminar will work on the evaluation and possible improvements of website creation or existing internet sites.
At the end of the project, the participants of the seminar will go into two exchanges of experience, meeting Zemgale and Latgale entrepreneurs who have successfully implemented projects for the development of their economic activity.
In the project “a package of measures for the emerging and existing entrepreneurs of East Latgale on business opportunities in the European Union” is invited to participate in any interest, regardless of whether an economic activity is already being carried out, or merely considering this idea.
Project activities will be implemented by 31 May 2017. Login seminars and more information available at Santa Zundas, tel. 26256394, e-mail address: sanita.zunda@rezeknesnovads.lv

The European Commission's main priority is not to create new debts, to achieve growth in Europe and to increase the number of jobs. Since the start of the global economic and financial crisis, the European Union (EU) is experiencing a low level of investment and high unemployment. In order to address this problem, the European Commission, together with the European Investment Bank, launched a “Investment Plan for Europe”.
“Europe Direct” is a 2005 European Commission's network of information centres operating in all EU Member States. “Europe Direct” provides free information to all citizens on EU areas of activity and calls for the involvement of THE EU in ongoing processes and the use of the opportunities offered by participation in it.
