Rezekne municipality – the second “most friendly local government” in Latvia

At the end of 2014, the “WORK WITH YOUTH 2014” award ceremony awarded the most active municipalities, youth stakeholders and youth organisations. The competition was organised by the Ministry of Education and Science, in collaboration with the “NEXT” association. A total of 49 applications by Latvian municipalities were submitted.
The municipality of Rezekne, in the category “young man-friendly local government”, won the honest 2 nd place in the competition of Latvian municipalities, by joining only the local government of Cēsis.
In addition to the Rēzekne municipality, the European Union of Latvia awarded the Special Prize “for active work with youth”.
In 2014, our “Ozo young people” (Ozolaines parish young people) entered the category “fastest jump for the new youth organisation”. Joy for our young people!
