For young people

For the last time, 27 professional educational institutions throughout Latvia can apply for free training in youth guarantees in educational programmes. Young people aged 17-29 who do not work and do not attend are free to obtain one of the 34 professions requested in the labour market within one year, receiving various types of support during training.
75% graduate found work
The Youth Guarantee programme is concluded in 2018, so this is the last opportunity for young people to obtain useful professions of the economy of Latvia in such a short period, which are selected in cooperation with employers, so expected in our companies. So far, more than 4000 graduates have benefited from the youth guarantee diplomas. In 2014 and 2015, the survey of young people admitted to the programme shows that 75% of them have successfully found their place in the labour market for half a year after the completion of their training, and almost half of the graduates are working directly in the profession of youth guarantee training, ”stresses the Director of State Education Development Agency Dita Traidas.
The range of professions - catering, metalworking, construction and other sectors
In the latter, you can apply for the following popular professions as a cook, confectioner, clerk, hairdresser, locker, gardener, and autolocker whose previous admission has been a favorite of young people.
There is also a ship cook, a nurse's assistant, a dental assistant, a tailor, a seam, a weaving machine operator, a locker, a turnip, a frenzer, an electric monster, a chemical production operator, a manicure and a pedicure specialist, a visitor and a photographer.
The educational institutions also offer the necessary specialities in the labour market such as the retail store vendor, postal operator, finishing worker, masonry, building builder, dry structure monter, motorsaw operator, driver of the cockpit car, carpenter, cockgrower (arborist) and the producer of the meat products.
For unemployed young people aged 17-29
Liepaja Sandra Plostniece, at her time with a youth guarantee, entered the last train - at the age of 29, she began to learn a tailor's profession. “Good motivation was that it was a“ last chance ”for me in this programme because i could no longer learn because of an age limit. At the time of the training, Liepaja State Technical School had a great atmosphere, but in practice acquired practical knowledge in design, removal of measures and practical sewing,” recalls Sandra.
“In comparison with the previous education, when the education received was partly paid by herself, not to mention the other expenses, it was very comfortable that the youth guarantee was all secured,” says MR Plostniece.
Young people must be between 17 and 29 years of age with primary school, secondary school or secondary vocational training in order to acquire a profession in vocational training programmes.
A young person may not work in a paid job, be self-employed or be on parental leave. Youth guarantee programmes can also learn those who are studying full-time higher education programmes or on academic leave, with the exception of young people studying part-time studies at universities. Students of evening school students and anyone who receives secondary education in distance learning may apply for training.

Students receive the necessary training, free living in the service hotel and career support measures.
