Received Lāčplēsis honorary mark

On December 13, the Latvian National Defence Fund “Lāčplēsis” was served in the municipality of Rezekne. Mr Anton Ludboržs, head of the Rēzekne politically repressed club, was awarded a silver honorary mark for a life contribution to the restoration and strengthening of the independence of Latvia. The former member of the “Latgale hawk” - Nautrēnu parish youth resistance movement celebrated the 85-year anniversary this year, yet still in active public life. Lāčplēsis's honour is also given to Helmuth Chibulis, former Member of the Latvian Saeima - for active work for the benefit of Latvia, as a contribution to the growth of Latvia's economy. Viļānietis Peteris Tupus awarded the mark for a permanent work AT Viļānu in the breeding station and a contribution to the development of agriculture in Latvia.
“Latvian National Defence Fund Lāčplēsis” was established on 2 May 1996, with the aim of promoting the activities of defence and security institutions, the development of the national economy and culture, as well as the patriotic education of Latvian citizens, especially young people. The foundation is a private initiative and comes from members' money. It consists of 11 members of the Board who decide twice a year, on 18 November and 4 May, on the award of awards to people who have contributed to national security. The foundation “Lāčplēsis” has previously awarded his awards to many people familiar to Latvia - President of the Latvian Academy of Sciences Jurim Ekmanim, Dr. Adrian Dāim, engineer Kārlim Mikelson, Professor Namejs Zeltins, academician Janis Stradiņš, Jçkabpils Mayor Leonid Salcevič, President of Dobele council Andrejs Spridzāns, Rēzekne Mayor Aleksandram Bartazvič, as well as many other public and cultural employees.
