Internal spaces will be restored in the Red Church
In April 2017, the Royal Roman Catholic draudzes Project WAS supported IN THE EAFRD Latvian Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 activities 19.2.2. Within the framework of the “potential development initiative”, which was presented to the “Rēzekne District Communities Partnership”. The aim of the project is to ensure the preservation, accessibility to the public and more efficient socio-economic use of the Roman Catholic Church of the Virgin Virgin.
As part of the “Renewal of the Roman Catholic Catholic Church” project, the church's interior repair will be carried out as of June. Repairs will be performed BY SIA “Rezekne Building Production No. 5”.
During the church's repair, the service will take place in the parish house, the pilgrims' room, on Sundays. 12.00. On excursions, the church will be seen only from outside, and a copy of the Red Lady's painting will be located in the pilgrims.
Current wall church celit was in 1897. It is a simple square-shaped stone building. The church is an architectural monument of national significance. The Church altar is the second most prominent celebration of the miracle in Latvia, which has been preserved since 17.gs, and is also a national cultural monument. The painting was restored in 2013.
Sarkaņi is one of the most distinguished and oldest places of God's cult (Sunplaces) in Latvia and is the purpose of pilgrims. Pilgrims from Latvia and abroad arrive here. The most important festival in the church is Vasarfestival.
The total amount of the project is EUR 30 468,50 (with VAT). Eligible costs OF EUR 30 000,00, ineligible costs: EUR 468,50. The aid intensity is 90 %, thus public funding is EUR 27 000.00, own funds 3468.50. Support for the co-financing part will be asked for support to the municipality of Rezekne for the project call for co-financing for the preservation of cultural monuments.
