Business News

On 16 April, a seminar for tourism entrepreneurs was held in the municipality of Rezekne, where entrepreneurs were informed about the latest developments in the tourism sector and the necessary knowledge in the organisation of the tourism company.
The Northgale Management Inspector of the Food Veterinary Service, Inese Laizāne, talked about the mandatory harmlessness and quality requirements of drinking water, the procedures for monitoring and control in tourism enterprises (guests, holidays, rural houses) and the use of surface and groundwater intended for consumption in raw form or after special preparation for human consumption, food preparation, use in the household, or tourism enterprises (above). THE FVD also said about the activities of owners of tourism businesses (guest, holiday, rural home) to launch guest caterers.
A very interesting narrative was Andris Kleper (Dr Geogr., Vidzeme University and SHESPI Institute, docent, researcher) on marketing and competitiveness in tourism, the creation of a single destination and cooperation in tourism. The narration and presentation were examples and both statistics and conclusions on the process.
Representatives of the National Fire-Fire and Rescue Service Latgale Region Brigade Rēzekne said briefly about general fire safety regulations in tourism companies and the use of fire extinguishers, their durability control procedures in companies, the deployment of smoke detectors, their verification.
Interesting was the presentation of the doctors of the Rēzekne Technology Academy on the results of the survey of the tourism accommodation of Rezekne. The survey took place in summer 2017, visiting tourism companies as a “hidden guest”. More than 50 service quality criteria were evaluated, starting with first-time communication (responses to e-mails, telephone calls) and on-site visits to travel time away from the tourism company. Overall, good reviews were about communication, affection and hospitality. The quality of the material base and equipment could be improved.
