Students make sure that life in rural areas is diverse

Dricānu High School is one of nine schools involved in the European Social Fund project “career support in general and vocational education institutions”. It is a school that has established growth, patriotism, dignity, responsibility, proud of the name of the Latvian Ecosylum. Modern, open to the young, with a responsive pedagogical collective.
In assessing this, it seemed that the students of this school deserve the opportunity to participate IN THE ACTIVITIES of THE VLT activity “information measures for young people and pupils” in sub-activity “promotion of the agricultural and forestry sector in general educational schools” with the aim of creating an interest in the agricultural sector and promoting agricultural vocational education.
On the day of the trip, we successfully entered the schedule. Jçkabpils agro-business college Barkava unit is part-time from Dricāniem. In the barracks, students can only learn well because they have all the prerequisites. The service hotel and part of the classroom are located in one building. Next to it is a wide-ranging training complex for practice, grass, audiences, library. Both hotel and recreational and training rooms are repaired, light. Repairs are carried out by the students themselves. The unit offers a number of curricula. We were interested in vocational secondary education and youth guarantee programmes. The professions acquired are not only a garage in the labour market, the skills are useful in social life or the creation of their business – the skills of the builder, the foundations of agriculture, the skills of hotel services. The girls were interested in the possibility of acquiring beauty skills in the warranty program. The Barkava department offers a wide range of active recreational, sports, creativity. Students participate successfully in various projects. High results have been achieved at national level in professional mastery and innovation competitions. The school can be proud of a tourist laboratory – pool, sauna, bubble bath, fireplace. As well as the company “Water” opened by Voldemara, Armanda and Linda. The Head of Unit Sylvia Smeltere and the educators were delighted, pointing out, asking questions for children and praising for their knowledge and interest. From this visit, students liked the bright, well-thought-out curriculum corridors of the school, the home of the service hotel. Of course, the cocktails offered by the people of the “Water” company and the hospitality of the General Unit staff.
Barkava was followed by a trip TO Lazdona's dairy. The children were surprised by the production house, and they had thought it was bigger. Lazdone is one of the oldest dairy companies in Latvia. There have been reorganisations which have contributed to the stability of the company. During the excursion, the whole process of milk processing was introduced, looking at how different products could be obtained from milk in the light of technological processes. The sound of the technology was somewhat disturbed by the noise in the production site, but it was still interesting to watch the preparation of cream, butter, curd, production weighing, packaging. In a separate room, a variety of desserts – creams, curds “Liene” and sweet cheese, yoghurt and heaven. Here an exclusive product is prepared for the butter. At the tasting table, the technology said that there are several products that have been awarded a green spoon mark. During the visit, i liked the fact that the people we saw were smiling, kind.

The family company SIA “Madona carameles” is located in Madona, on a 3-minute trip from Lazona. The children of Linda and Arne Blazhevich were very pleased. The head of the company told me that several years ago, an article in foreign journals about caramels had been the basis for the idea. This idea was in an attractive business. In a short time, the caramel plant has gained recognition. An undeniable role in the fact that Italians, Ukrainians, Chinese, is a good co-operation with the local government. The local government also addressed the new family for participation in the project competition “Madona var better”. As a result, a caramel workshop was opened. In the future, the plant will be expanded with the idea of exports.
The entire process of preparation of caramels can be seen digitally. It was interesting to see how the mass was prepared, from which the caramels formed. The mass, which is energetically stretched from colourful, gradually becomes light. This work is the most difficult thing to do. There have been employees who have not been able to withstand the load. Caramel preparation is a creative process, interesting, artistic, at the same time very precise, amazed. Some shapes are created, drawings. The colors are natural. You can apply for an order in a workshop, also specific. The activity began when everyone could make caramels for themselves. A variety of shapes – numbers, hearts, flowers, geometric shapes. The children liked it very much.
SIA “Madona carameles” is an example of students whose results can be achieved through fiction, susceptibility, responsibility and knowledge.
Information days Subject to the fact that life in rural areas is diverse, agriculture is not just a mere job. When assessing an ongoing parish, it is shown how to get to the idea of entrepreneurship that the idea of realizing the idea needs knowledge.
Agriculture is ancient, unique. A small proportion of all natural diversity is used to produce agricultural production. However, it is a healthy, interconnected chain in which hundreds of thousands of different species operate in the alternative. Subject: broad and binding. In the form of a tender, by asking questions, it was revealed how much the pupils knew about agriculture. For example, some benefit in agriculture is from insects, birds. When to sow the summers when the winters, when the buckwheat? Where can i learn from agriculture-related professions? Jānis Dembovskis earned the most for the correct answers. Aurelia Zarina and Janis Saulitis engaged very much in the competition.
Students at home had to fill out questionnaires in response to 15 questions. Questionnaire data were collected in order to assess the children's vision of ongoing fields, their attitudes to life in rural areas and the future. 17 students from classes 7 and 8 participated in the survey.
In response to the question of why people choose to live in the countryside, the 14 questionnaires have pointed out that there are several answers in the countryside that do not like to be safer in the city. In the case of a question by young people after graduation of secondary school or vocational school, 10 children have noted the option of further learning. It is pleasant that no one had noted a variation on travel abroad. Unfortunately, there was no answer to the return to his parish, even though the answers in favour of the countryside had been highlighted. Children will grow, learn, study, change views. The replies to this questionnaire will also be changed.
