Racing “Lāčplēsis Cup” in Ilzeskalns
On November 11, Lāčplēsis Cup was held in Ilzeskalns. Eleven teams were in the event. There were both local activists and visitors from Salnava and Audriņu parish.
Teams with very interesting names included: “rainbow”, “Skippers”, “black smoke”, “bats”, “atoms”, “Members”, “snowmen”, “Jumis”, “migrants”, “Lāčplēsis and Laimdotis”, “girls Geltenes and John”. The winners received beautiful cups, diplomas, as well as delicious prizes. The most recent, Rinald and Sandy took the most loudest applauds. Every member of the memory was given a beautiful badge with a picture of Latvia's flag and “Lāčplēsis Cup 2016”. At times there was an amusing idea that this could be a skiing with torches, but it was in a traditional spirit. The torch of the torches on Lāčplēsis's Day in Ilzeskaln took place for the fifth time, so there was a small, yet anniversary, which, at the end of the honour, was all feasting with a festive pie.
