In a sunny day of May 4, AT Mākoņkalna parish in the Lake Lipušku village, there was an athletic and energetic presence on the shore of Razna Lake, with one common goal to win THE peak of Mākoņkalna (Padebei hill) and test its strength by running a distance of approximately 3.5 kilometres, taking part in the eighth consecutive Razna-Muokūnkoln 2018. A total of 105 athletes, both small and large, and individually, took part in the run, which had to be carried out in the last 400 metres of the distance.
In the eighth mass run, for 13 minutes and 37 seconds, the runner record owner Andrejs Yesko was shown, while the ladies' competition at the fastest was the River River from Preiļi, filling the trace in 16 minutes and 54 seconds. Runners were divided into three age groups: up to 16 years, 17 to 35 years and 36 years. Renars Duļkevics (14 min.) was won by the newest athlete in the group 1 st place. 48 sec) and una Kraupes. In the age group 17 to 35 years of age, Rainer Trubach (13 min. 41 sec) and Ilze Borbale (18 min. 20 sec), while Andrejs Yko and Iveta Malta won the group from 36 years (17 min. 5 sec), correcting the last year's score by 55 seconds.
The first-place winners each received a cash pot of EUR 70. “Auscarb kebabs” prizes were awarded 2 nd and 3 rd place. In the nomination, the “busiest school” 150 EUR of money to be used for the purchase of sports equipment was received for the second year in a row BY Nautrēnu High School, who earned the school title of the school, leaving Kaunatas secondary school, as well AS Maltas secondary school. The total prize fund was EUR 1000 that year.
In order to alleviate the start of the start, the runners had the opportunity to grab their precision in the shooting competitions, where Edgars Stepins, Gunārs Livdans and Aigars Korlevskis were the most accurate in the men's competition, while, in the women's competition, the most focused were Daiga Krilova, Ieva Paškevich and Liene Grauzina.
The organizers of the Rēzekne, the local government educational administration and THE Mākoņkalna parish administration thanked the sports club “Magnen” for the coordination of the run, as well as thanked fourteen volunteers who helped shape this exciting event.
