On Wednesday, 17 September, in Vidzeme concert hall “Cēsis”, Agriculture Minister Janis Duklavs welcomed the winners of the competition “singer – 2014” and the beneficiaries of ageing prizes – farmers, rural entrepreneurs, minors and scientists in agriculture. Similarly, during the event, the award was awarded for a life-saving contribution to agriculture.
This year, the names of the winners, diplomas and awards were awarded in six nominations of the competition. In the competition group “family in rural area” this year, the winner of the laureate was acquired by the farm “Earth” of the Rēzekne municipality, where the family of Onujan is occupied. The name of the laureate in the competition group “annual agricultural holding” was allocated to the Tukums municipality with limited liability “mountains” and to its leader Vladislav butane. In the competition group “annual company in food production” for best recognised Tukums municipality, “Tukums milk”, its manager Ints Poškus.
For the most successful young peasants, the “nails and horns” owner Viesturs Luksts, owner of a limited liability company, was recognised, while the name “tomorrow's singer – small circle” was acquired by Neretas municipality 116. Neretta's grandmother, its manager Liddy Ozolina. For the best scientific work for rural development, the work of several scientists – author of authors – “Description of the meat used for food of Latvia” has been recognised this year.
The award for “life in agriculture” is awarded this year to agronomer Agatha Pavulei, who has contributed to the improvement of the soil fertility with his professional work, thus focusing all his life on Latvian agricultural development. The promotion prizes and diplomas were generally received by 12 participants in all contest groups.
The award of the competition “singer” has become one of the most important measures for farmers, while the name of the laureate “singer” is a sign of the evidence of the work.
