International Customs Service Cinologist Competition in Lendes

From 24 to 27 April in Rezekne and Rezekne, there was an international competition for the kindergartens of customs service with labour dogs, tobacco products and cash searches. The competition was held on two days, 25 and 26 April. The competition was held for the second time, and this year there was both a larger number of participants and the number of countries represented and more discipline.
This year, representatives from nine countries participated in international customs service kinetics competitions. They participated in cinemas with labour dogs from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Czech Republic, Russia, Moldova, Poland, Finland and Ukraine. This year, a national police cinema with a working dog also participated in the competition.
Each team was composed of team leaders and two kindergartens with tobacco-search dogs. On the other hand, kindergartens with cash-based search dogs started individually.
The kindergartens worked in seven disciplines with employers: search for tobacco (cigarettes) in premises, transport and luggage, search for cash in premises, transport and luggage, and obedience (according TO BH regulations). The competition will be held at several locations in Rezekne and Rezekne District.
Four of the seven disciplines - the search for tobacco (cigarettes) in premises and baggage and the search for cash in rooms and baggage took place in the Landesbanks (former school building).
Among the kindergartens with the work dogs of tobacco products, the team of prizes received (the most points won) the Latvian customs team, trying to win the honest 1 st place. In the team's assessment, 2 nd was occupied by the Polish customs team and 3 rd place – the Estonian customs team.
On the other hand, in individual disciplines, a representative of Latvia, 2 nd place of the Czech Republic and 3 rd place in Russia's representative, took place in the individual disciplines between the kindergartens and the cash-search workers.
Such international competitions are organised to promote the improvement of the professional masterness of Latvian and foreign customs services, the exchange of practical experience of customs services, the promotion of qualification and the strengthening of the international cooperation of customs kinematic services in the fight against the illegal movement of cash and the smuggling of tobacco products.
Since 2008, the customs control measures of THE SRS have engaged in cinematologists with labour dogs trained in the search for tobacco products, but since 2012, cinematologists with cash-searching work dogs.
The Latvian Customs Service is working in cinemas with 37 working dogs trained in the search for narcotic drugs, tobacco products and cash.
