On 24 January, the new season of the knowledge game “eruditis” was launched in the municipality of Rezekne. In this school year, ten Rēzekne Municipalities and Viļānu council teams will seek answers to questions about Latvian anniversary festivals.
In four games, pupils will seek answers to questions about girls, Martians, Christmas, Liga Day, Andrew Day, and other festivals, which it turns out that Latvians have quite a lot. In the first game, pupils searched for answers to questions about the autumn festival, Martin, Andrew, Miickel, and Catherine. The pupils had to know that Catherine's day was celebrated as honorary sheep and goats, that the traditional food of this day was ash-baked Vista, that the ancient Latvians believed that two cereal beans had grown together, that the brandy and beans were all boiled peas and beans. In order to avoid the spirits of the loves, the ancient Latvians in Martians pulled a carved cross on the barn door, and Andrew's day filled with the whole of the outstretched and dreamy dreams.
In the first round, with 23 points for the most eruded team, a Kaunatas secondary school team was recognised, 2 nd with 21 points ranked AT Viļānu secondary school team, and 3 th with 16 points divided by Nautrēnu secondary schools I and II.
The next round of the competition will be held on 27 February. It will examine the pupils' knowledge of the winter sunrise festival. It should be noted that in the spring of 2018, a total of four contest cards will be cleared by the most recent team of Rezekne and Viļānu. The best will receive a gift card of 450 euros that can be spent on a target. Traditionally, after the end of the competition, all participants will have the opportunity to travel in a joint excursion to one of the nearby neighbours.
