Candle Day Rikava

The ancient Latvians called it a month of candles, and after the ancient beliefs, a candle day that marked the middle of winter was celebrated on 2 February. According to ancient traditions, the candles are to be leaked on this day. The Latvians poured them from sheep fat or wax, because they believed that the candles were the most brighter in the day. In the last days of January, THE Rikavas cultural house invited everyone to the candlelight lessons, where they taught them how to fill a candle with their own hands, with their own hands, with the brightness of the festival. Such candlelight occurs in Rikava for a quarter of a year.
It may seem from the edge that the candlelight is nothing more than a “flicker” of his joy. That is not the case, both paraffin and the appropriate dock (burner) must be supplied. First prepare moulds, crushed paraffin or candle ends. It is necessary to know how to better strengthen the fork and avoid wax in the form of leakage. Candles may be flavoured with ether oils and decorated with dried plants. The time went through the wings of the wind, and at the end of it we got a beautiful self-prepared candle, as well as a nice emotion and inspiration to buy materials for the next lesson. We have noticed that these activities are more of a boy who works with great interest. This year, the small - Vasilius Krasnovs (class 2), Alexander Linkkevich (class 2), Victor Jefimov (class 1) brought his candle tables, poured candles and candles into moulds. With each year new ideas arise, this year delighted hearts, bell-shaped candles, candles with dry flowers and moss.
