Culture

As a result of Latvia's 97 th birthday, a number of activities devoted to this special event took place over a period of more than a week in Rikavas parish. The anniversary of our country is the right moment to exploit the force in the People's traditions and culture to find a new way for them to work together as they form the fate of their own people and nation.
“To keep Latvia warm” - an exhibition of rock works was created with this name in the library, where there are various works that can also be purchased. The exhibition can be seen until the end of the month.
In order to create a festive sense and strengthen the Latvian identity in preparation for Lāčplēsis, every citizen was invited to engage in the promotion to cut and folded the red-white tape to be worn by the clothing. The most charming ribbons were pupils who were happy to do this work, and they listened to the history of red-white-red flags and ribbons.
On 11 November, on the day of Lāčplēsis, we mentioned our Father's guards who were fighting against the Bermont Army. We went for the first time in the torch. We put the candles down in the cemetery and agreed to a joint prayer.
There was also no wish to write to Latvia on the birthday. Every citizen could come to a cultural house and write his wish to Latvia on specially prepared pages.
With the support of the parish administration, we watched a documentary film about our counselor, the singer Aija Rimos “The Star of the Star.” We met the film scenario authors Inetu Atpili - Yugani and Aija's producer Peter Laizan.
On 18 November, on the birthday of Latvia, we went with light thoughts and good wishes for our Father. The Etnographic ensemble “Rikava”, with “Rudina voir”, showed a story of the fate of a soldier in ancient times. We all sang the words of power to Latvia, hoping that they would fill and God will protect us. At the end of the event, everyone could enjoy a festive cake, agree joint songs, and read the wishes of the people for Latvia.
