Project “Purchase of sports suits for sports club Magnen” will be implemented

From 2012, the association “sports club Magnen” actively promotes the promotion and development of various sports in Rezekne municipality, organising and supporting sports events at Latvian and international level, inviting everyone to be physically active and live a healthy lifestyle.
Sports club Magnen organizes various sporting events: running; practice sessions; health afternoon; youth health Olympics; People's sports competitions; entertainment sports events (strong competitions, infant crawling, orientation labyrinth). The association is organized at the parish, county, national and international level (world championship in rowling). The list of the most important events organised by the association contains six semi-marathons of Rezekne, from which the 2013 semi-marathon was included in the list of stages of the Latvian running serial “running Latvia” and gathered almost thousands of participants from all Latvian and foreign countries. In spring 2014, almost two thousand participants had started in the semmarathon of Rezekne, while in 2017, 4000 participants, of whom 47% were domestic participants. The activities are organised both for young people, children, pensioners and people with special needs (health runway, nursery racing). The association “sports club Magnen” also promotes cycling as part of the People's sport and active lifestyle, thus expanding the possibilities of the people of the Rēzekne district to focus on various sports. Volunteers are involved in organising sporting events.
In organising sports events, the members of the Magnen sports club are also involved. The members of the sports club Magnen are actively participating in the orientation competitions, the running serial “BigBank runs Latvia”, Lattelecom Riga marathon, trail runners, representing Rezekne municipality. Running for club members has become a day-to-day part and members run to achieve certain goals.
In order to continue continuing the participation of the sports club Magnen in various sports events and the organisation of sporting events in a single joint image, the association “Sport Club Magnen” submitted a project “Acquisition of sports suits for the sports club“ Magnen ”” in the open project submission of the European Union Agricultural Fund for Rural Development of the European Union Agricultural Fund for Rural Development 2014-2020 of the European Union Agricultural Fund for Rural Development announced in the Latvian Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 19.2. “Implementation of the action under a community-led local development strategy” in activity 19.2.2. “Site potential development initiatives”.
The purpose of the project is to purchase sports suits for the active participation of the sports club Magnen in running, orientation competitions and organising sports events in parish, municipality, country-wide, thus promoting the opportunities of active lifestyle in Rezekne municipality.
The total eligible cost of the public benefit project “Acquisition of sports suits for the sports club Magnen” is EUR 4662.24. The pre-financing sources of the total cost of the project are: 10% or EUR 466.22 - funding of the association “sports club Magnen”, 90% or EUR 4196.02 - the requested public funding from the European Union's European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
The deadline for implementation of the project is 31 October 2018. The sports suite will be purchased from SIA “VIVA SPORT”.
