A crown lamp restored in the Community prayer of the Old Believers' Community

The Community prayer of the Tisky Old Believers is a national architectural monument of local significance (national defense). The wooden church 18.gs in the first half of the 5870 s is one of the oldest prayer houses in Rezekne municipality, which has retained its original function.
The Tisky Old Believers' congregation seeks to carry out all the repair work of the house in order to preserve it for future generations. In this year, thanks to the help of the municipality of Rezekne, we have an opportunity to reconstruct the prayer house. The metal headlamp is located in the centre above the altar. The headlamp had not been modified and repaired since its installation time (115 years ago). An ancient and beautiful headlamp with candles was the inner room of our church and needed restoration works. The headlamp was in a regrettable position, lacking or distorted by several architectural details, a metal corrosion appeared in different places, as it had been painted several times, but was never cleaned to the required layer and treated with the necessary materials. In this spring, the renovation of the headlamp was carried out - the cleaning of the surface of the headlamp parts, the renovation of the damaged places, the varnishing and polishing. The headlamp now looks very luxurious and blessed.
Our congregation wants to give a sincere thanks to the municipality of Rezekne for the material support provided – co-financing for the renovation and restoration of the headlamp and the head of the cultural division Ināra Piebalšne on smart advice and support for the presentation of documents.
