During the period from 4 December to 12 December, the European Union Erasmus + Programme Operational No. 2 (KA2) for the school exchange partnership project No 2018-1RO01-KA229-049091_2 'ZWISCHEN DEN KULTUREN' took place at the first meeting of the cooperation partners in Romania. Four upper secondary school pupils - Valerie Tenasheva, Nancy Mazure, Veronica Klimov, Dennis Filatov and teacher Olga Missevich and Yelena Bažanova participated in project activities. The working language of the project implementation is German.
On the first day, the project participants met, the presentation of their country, the preparation of the exhibition “religion and social festival”, using information technologies, introducing the city Iasi.
On 6 December, there was an evaluation of the Day of the First Project, a presentation of the work from September to November, preparation and presentation of the presentation “religious and social festival in my country”.
On December 7, following the evaluation of the second project day, the pupils' teams participated in competitions “Germany, Switzerland, Austria”, performing diverse and interesting tasks. This was followed by a theatre show, an introduction to Romanian, Turkish and Latvian traditions and culture, People's songs and dances, organised games in German. In the evening we visited Ecaterina Teodoroiu (von Emil Lerescu).
On December 8, we went into a training excursion for Romanian craftsmen. The excursion was very interesting and knowledgeable. We visited the history museum, the ceramic workshop, the artisanal trade, and the Voroneta monastery, which is famous with particularly beautiful wall paintings. With tiles, ceramic decorations and wall paintings, the ornamental church is one of THE sites listed IN THE UNESCO Heritage List, located between the Carpathian mountains and the Dniester River. The blue tones used in the painting are called Voroneth Blue, and the colour recipe for more than 500 years is still unencrypted. This is the most famous Romanian monastery that is considered the most prominent model of medieval art.
On 9 December we continued to meet the city of Iasi, their history, cultural monuments, visited the cultural castle where we met many exhibitions and even saw the clock mechanism of the tower and heard the sound of the memorable bells.
On December 10, we worked with youth literature in training stations, performing practical creative works, participating in sports activities.
On December 11, an evaluation of the project week activities was held, preparation for the 2 nd meeting in April 2019 in Turkey, as well as the visit of the botanical garden of the city.
All the measures taken in Romania have had a positive impact on the development of foreign languages, particularly the German language, the development of knowledge, the vision and the idea of enlargement of other countries, the practical application of foreign language knowledge in practical life.
During the implementation of Erasmus + project activities, teachers and pupils developed communication skills, German language knowledge, information technology skills, collaborative skills, presentation skills, acquired knowledge of Romanian, Turkish culture and traditions.
It was our first unforgettable and impressive journey within the project, but there is still a lot of work ahead of us, preparing for another meeting of the cooperation partners in April 2019 in Turkey.
