Tūrisma akcija “Brīvdienas pie kaimiņiem” Latgalē un Aukštaitijā Lietuvā

This year, the Rēzekne Tourism Development Centre invites Latvian and Lithuanian tourists to participate in the tourism promotion “holidays at neighbors”, within which it is possible to visit 30 seats in Latgale and Aukštaitia region in Lithuania from 1 June to 15 September, as well as obtain valuable prizes. It is a great opportunity to spend free time, reveal various tourist, recreational and cultural objects in both neighbouring countries. The goal of the promotion is to promote Latgale among Lithuanian travellers, as well as to introduce local residents to the tourism offer of the Aukštaitia region, thereby promoting mutual cooperation and stimulating tourism development in both regions.
Lithuania is one of the most important foreign markets for Latgale tourism. The number of guests from neighbouring countries is measured by a significant increase each year, approaching THE increase OF 50% in 2018. Also, in the cities included in the stock, visitors from Lithuania make up a visible part of all foreign guests, so it is clear that our neighbours have a achievable and attractive holiday destination. The particular share is in collaboration with the municipality of Rezekne, the municipality of Ludzas, the municipality of Kraslava, as well as the municipalities of Moled, Zarasa, Anyks, Ignalina and Utena (Lithuania) and is one of the ways of providing additional information on the developments in the tourism sector in these regions.
The rules of the travel stock are very simple. Travellers need to visit objects, each obtaining approval stamps in their brochures. All valid brochures with at least 15 sites visited in both regions will be accompanied by a prize. Brochures can be obtained in the tourist information centres and stocks involved in the event. The closing of the stock, the lottery and the announcement of the results will take place on 27 September, when the 10 lucky ones will be cleared, which will win the prizes of the valuable stock.
The concept of “holidays at neighbors” is an adventure that will be interesting to anyone, since it brings together a wide range of objects. In Latgale, the venue includes a watercourse development centre “lighthouse” on the shore of Luban Lake and a recreational complex “Ezerkrasti” on the shore of Razna Lake, where it will be possible to enjoy a summer rest. The family will certainly be interested in the visit of the mini Zoo “Rozīte” and the creative service “Zeimuļs” in Rezekne. In turn, the enthusiasts of culturals will have the opportunity to visit Latgale embassy GORE, the Ludza Municipality Research Museum, Lūznavas Manor, Count Plasteru Castle complex Kraslava etc. On the Lithuanian side, travellers are invited to visit the Zarasa Museum and the panorama bridge, the rabbit valley in Utena district, the Lithuanian ethnocosmology museum, the air walk trail in Anischos and other binding objects. You can only choose the best direction for yourself and go into a pleasant holiday adventure!
