Restoration of Nautrēnu Roman Catholic Church

For the third year, THE restoration of the organ of the Holy Virgin of the Holy Virgin Mary was continued for a third year. These works can be continued thanks to donors, the National Cultural Capital Foundation target programme “Latvian State Forests Support Latgale Culture Programme 2017” and the municipality of Rezekne municipality.

This year is the cleaning of the organs of the organ I manual, the restoration of damaged bars and the cleaning and preservation of the metal parts, and the cleaning of the instrument. The restoration works of the organs, like last year, when the II manual cleaning and restoration were carried out, are designed to allow the instrument to play at least part-time using only part of the pole. The restoration works are performed BY THE SIA “Organ Workshop”, which is managed by Alvis Melbardis, who is known in Latvia, who has also stayed in THE USA.

The restoration of the eagles requires large financial contributions, so the “Sovim Person” association actively participates in the attraction of financing, participates in various project contests to preserve the organ as a cultural and artistic value for future generations. Complete restoration of the eagles is planned in 2018 – in the centuries of Latvia – with a congregation concert of the eagles.
