The National Education Development Agency (VIAA) informs that the European Commission (EC) has launched a 2019 call for proposals in the European Union (EU) Erasmus + programme in the field of education and training. In 2019, the total funding available in the Erasmus + programme is expected to increase by €300 million or 10 % compared to 2018.
Organisations active in the general, professional, higher and adult learning sectors are invited to participate in the competition. As in previous years, project applications can be submitted for the implementation of learning mobility of individuals, cooperation aimed at promoting innovation and sharing good practice.
The new programme is the “European University” initiative, with AN annual BUDGET of eur 3 billion from the budget of eur 3 billion. In 2019, it is planned to support six European university associations, each of which will have at least 3 higher education institutions from 3 countries to promote the strengthening of the European identity, while promoting excellence and helping to enhance the competitiveness of European higher education institutions. This initiative is an essential element of the development of the European education area by 2025.
From the next year, Serbia, currently a partner of the programme, will become a full-eligible Erasmus + Member State, extending the range of Member States to 34 countries, among which 28 EU Member States and 6 non-EU countries: the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey and now Serbia.
In the Erasmus + competition, project applications for funding can only be submitted by legal entities. Before completing the project application, THE VIAA is invited to consult the programme's 2019 contest guidelines. Applicants must submit their project applications online. VIAA will be informed when the forms and instructions for filling them are available.
Deadlines for submission of project applications (until the date of the specified date) 12.00 Brussels time):
Learning mobility:
Mobility of persons in the field of education and training, including the mobility of students and staff of international higher education institutions – 5 February 2019;
Implementation of Erasmus Mundus joint Masters programmes: 14 February 2019.
Cooperation to promote innovation and exchange good practice:
Strategic partnerships in education and training: 21 March 2019;
Knowledge associations, sectoral skills associations, “European universities” initiative – 28 February 2019;
Strengthening capacity in higher education in partner countries - 7 February 2019.
Jean Monnet programme:
Modules, professions, centres of excellence, support for associations, networks, projects — 22 February 2019.
VIAA will organise seminars on the preparation, submission and evaluation of project applications in the field of school, vocational, adult and higher education at the end of that year and at the beginning of the following year.
