VEREAM and Rezekne Dzirnavnieks become members of Rezekne SEZ.
On August 24, 2018, awards for the winners of the annual Prize of the Rēzekne Special Economic Zone (Rēzekne SEZ) were awarded for the Seventh Year. In assessing the 2017 indicators, the award of “annual company” was awarded to two companies of Rezekne SEZ: “VEREMS” IN THE RSEZ SIA group of large/medium-sized commercial companies and “Rezekne Dzirnavnieks” IN THE RSEZ AS small commercial company group. A number of commercial companies have been awarded recognition articles on investment in the development of Rezekne SEZ.
In the group of large/medium-sized commercial companies, the main prize in the nomination “ANNUAL COMPANY” is awarded “VEREMS” RSEZ SIA. In the birch plywood producer “VEREMS”, RSEZ SIA company received the following awards in the annual prize competition: 1 st place in nominations “annual producer”, “largest taxpayer”, “largest exporter”, “annual investment” and “most socially responsible company”. In 2017, the total turnover of the company was eur 30,3 million, with more than eur 2 million paid to the State. AS a whole, RSEZ SIA has invested more than 50 million euros in modern technologies and infrastructure development and has launched a new investment project in the area of Rezekne SEZ in 2018. 339 employees are currently working in the company.
RSEZ AS “Rezekne Dzirnavnieks” was recognised as a “ANNUAL ENTERPRISE” in the group of small commercial companies. The company was awarded awards in the following nominations: 1 st place in nominations “annual investments”, “most socially responsible enterprise”, “annual co-operation partner”, “annual service provider”, as well as 2 nd place in nomination “largest taxpayer”. RSEZ HAS provided more than 3.5 million euros in 2017. The Rēzekne Technology Academy has nominated “Rezekne Dzirnavnieks” FOR RSEZ'S awards in nomination “annual co-operation partner” for the support OF RTA student activities.
Recognition articles on investment in the development of Rezekne SEZ in 2017 were awarded to SIA “LEAX Rezekne” RSEZ, “NewFuels” RSEZ SIA, “MAGISTR-FISCAL EVEGN GROUP.MF G” LTD. In the small group of companies, the recognition articles on investment in the development of Rezekne SEZ were granted in 2017 to companies “Energy Resources CHP” RSEZ SIA, RSEZ SIA “LATSTAB”, “MB Properties” RSEZ SIA, RSEZ “REDIUS” SIA, “EsJu” RSEZ SIA, SIA RSEZ “DFD”, RSEZ SIA “alpha Lithium”, “REBIR” RSEZ AS, and RSEZ SIA “IRBIS Technology”.
The annual prize competition of the Latvian NATIONAL Authority “Rēzekne Special Economic Zone Administration” is organised each year with the aim of assessing and honouring the most successful commercial companies OF Rezekne SEZ, as well as their products and services, assessing the results of the previous year's activities. In the framework of the annual prize competition of Rezekne SEZ commercial companies, the commercial companies were evaluated in 10 nominations – the annual service provider, the annual producer, the largest taxpayer, the largest exporter, the annual investments, the annual innovation, the fastest growing company, the most socially responsible company, the annual co-operation partner and the annual company.
Currently, THE status of RSEZ's commercial company is granted to 19 companies. The most common industries in which Rēzekne SEZ commercial companies operate are metalworking, wood processing, manufacturing of equipment and instruments, storage and storage. The total turnover of RSEZ commercial companies in October 2017 was 99.4 million euro and 899 employees were employed in commercial companies.
