Known results of the Latgale NGO project programme 2016
The association “Southern Latgale NGO Support Centre” (DNVOAC) informs that the evaluation of the Latgale NGO projects programme 2016 has been concluded. The Expert Committee of the Projects Programme expresses gratitude to Latgale societies, which submitted 56 projects together, requiring more than 98,4 thousand euros for their activities. Compared to the previous year, these figures have grown to 20%. The largest project selection competition took place in a sub-programme of civil society initiatives in which 23 projects were submitted to strengthen civil society initiatives and population participation in Latgale region, requiring 37 986.75EUR. In this sub-programme, 7 projects were supported following the Commission's decision:

Compared to the previous name, the largest increase in the number of projects (more than 50%) is observed in the intercultural dialogue sub-programme, where Latgale non-governmental organisations have submitted 18 projects, requiring 33 656.13 EURO for project activities. The highest evaluation of the evaluation experts and also the funding of the intercultural dialogue sub-programme received four projects:

A constant number of projects submitted have remained in the sub-programme of minority initiatives involving 15 projects, including one in support of the Roma Communities, which had been allocated separate funding for this call. EUR 26 800,50 WAS requested for the implementation of the project ideas of this sub-programme. Six members of Latgale region will be able to implement their project ideas:

Projects were sent out of 13 and will be implemented in 10 municipalities of Latgale planning region. The most active project writers were Daugavpils City non-governmental organisations, which submitted 24 projects (requiring more than 40 000 EURO). These were followed by Rēzekne municipality with 7 projects, the municipality of Preilu and Kraslava presented 5 projects, the city of Rezekne – 4, Riebins, Ludza and Viļānu novadi - 2, and one project was sent from Vilaka, Dagda, Aglona, Karsava and Daugavpils District Societies. In assessing the budgets of the projects submitted, it can be concluded that 31 project applicant has requested a maximum amount of EUR 1 200 FOR local and 3 000 EURO regional projects. All 17 project activities supported will be implemented by 9 December 2016. As the DNVOAC coordinator Oscars Zugickis informs, the next - 2017 Latgale NGO project competition will be announced as early as the beginning of the year. The competition was announced in accordance with the mutually agreed agreement (No 2.5-8-18) of the MINISTRY of Culture of THE LR and the “South Latgale NGO Support Centre” on the performance of individual public administration tasks within the framework of civil society development and intercultural dialogue.
