In the competition organised by the municipality of Rezekne, “Support for the creation and development of enterprises in Rezekne District” was decided to support 11 project applications.
The total budget of the tender, which is intended to be allocated in the form of grants for the implementation of projects from the initial amount of EUR 25 000.00, is increased to EUR 25 363.05, where EUR 363.05 is additionally allocated from the SCHON budget. The projects supported will be implemented in the parish of Gaigalava, Nagles, Dricana and Ozolaine (each by two projects), one project – Audrina, Chornajas and Luznava parish.
16 project applications were submitted at the end of 2017. They were assessed both on the basis of administrative compliance and on the implementation of the substantive quality and the objectives to be achieved in order to improve the economic situation of the Rezekne municipality. In the context of the evaluation process, the applicants were invited to present their project ideas personally on 17 January, while the evaluation Commission therefore had the opportunity to ask binding questions and receive answers that allowed a more complete picture of potential project implementers and their objectives. In order to be supported as many business ideas as possible, for individual projects, funding for different reasons was set to a lesser extent than was required in the application.
The evaluation work was provided by the Commission for the evaluation of project applications in a five-person composition: President of the Commission Guntis Rasims (Chairman of the Permanent Committee of the Rēzekne District Council, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Education, Culture and Sport), members of the Commission: Ineta Elksne (Executive Director of the Rēzekne District Communities Partnership), Iveta Mietule (Director of Economic and Management Faculty of the Rēzekne Technology Academy), Vita Pučka (a member of the “Development Financial Institution ALTUM” in Latgale Region), Anita Verčinska (Member of the Management Board OF the “LEARN” foundation, head of the municipality of Rēzekne).
In turn, on 8 February at 14.00 A formal event will be held in the small hall of the municipality of Rēzekne, during which the establishment of the foundation “Rural Economic Development in Rezekne District” will be presented for the funding granted to the 11 project promoters supported.
