The European Commission (EC) launches a new “European Writer Day” initiative this year to promote interest in reading books, especially among young people, as well as the diversity of European languages and literature. It will be held on 27 March and thereafter every year on the last Monday of March.
In the event of a European Writer Day, Europe Direct in East Latgale is organising a competition where participants must recognize European author and Latvian fairy tales after “Emoji” or emoticons. We are invited to participate!
- Remember the names of stories or fairy tales;
- Send correct answers by March 31 (including) to email firstname.lastname@example.org or to Messenger ED East Latgale on Facebook page: facebook.com/EDAustrumlatgale/
We have also taken the prizes that are very suited to the European writers' day. In particular, in cooperation with www.taiseitslatgola.lv you can select a Latgalian author's book, such as Laura Melnes and Vivianna Marias Stanislavsk's first comic in Latgalically “Sunan breiveib”, Anneles Slišānes “Tuoraga stuosti”, Valentina Lukashevich “Casnag maizeitis”, who also received the Boņuka award or any other book available www.taiseitslatgola.lv . The recipients of the books will be plotted in early April. The winners will be able to receive books in the Central Library of Rezekne.
